About Peris Munene

I am a second-year law student at Notre Dame Law School (J.D. expected 2026) with a passion for criminal justice, exoneration work, and social impact. As a Student Attorney with the NDLS Exoneration Justice Clinic, I am dedicated to advocating for those wrongfully convicted and working toward systemic reform. This hands-on experience has solidified my commitment to justice and has provided me with practical skills in litigation, legal research, and client advocacy. Outside the classroom, I serve as the Social Chair for the NDLS Black Law Students Association (BLSA), where I am committed to fostering a sense of community, inclusion, and support for law students of color. Through this leadership role, I have developed a strong sense of responsibility and a passion for creating spaces that empower diverse voices. Before law school, I graduated summa cum laude from Oakwood University, an HBCU, with a Bachelor of Arts in Pre-Law and a minor in International Business. My academic achievements and involvement in campus leadership activities have shaped my growth into a driven, results-oriented individual who is always seeking opportunities to give back and make a difference. I am looking forward to building my legal career in criminal justice, civil rights, and advocacy, while continuing to serve and uplift communities both inside and outside the classroom
