I'm a Principal Cybersecurity Analyst providing cybersecurity, combat & systems and programme management in both private and public sectors. I am a retired Combat Systems Engineer with a BSc(Hon) in Electronic Engineering from Salford University and and a MEng in Electromagnetics from Royal Military College in Kingston. Always a visionary and innovator I am continually breaking new ground in many fields. I have developed a new cybersecurity risk management process for use by the DND and the CAF to govern all materiel acquisitions through life. The goal is to enable senior leadership or senior executives in the CAF, government departments or the private sector to be able to identify cybersecurity protection needs and attendant cybersecurity mission assurance levels commensurate with envisioned cyber threat capability. I have coupled this with Systems and Systems Security Engineering standards to enable incorporation into IT, Operational and platform Technology systems to provide the desired cyber mission/business assurance required. In the past I designed and built numerous secure enterprise data centre solutions, naval vessel networking systems, mobile Ad Hoq networking solutions, HF communications suites and antenna systems. As the lead for navy communications R&D I lead the development of Sub-Net Relay and was the technical lead for AUSCANZUKUS on network-centric operations and of Enterprise and Enterprise Security Information Architectures, including being the lead contributor to ACP 200. I've lead cross-functional teams which developed many innovative and award winning solutions for both the military and public sector. I have extensive experience in managing large enterprise IT systems for both the RCN and other government departments. Throughout my 37 years I have remained a visionary, and strong technology predictor and consumer of emerging concepts to solve complex problems. I have also assisted clients in defining modern governance, policy, processes and procedures to aid in the adoption and use of secure technology and disciplines to enhance organisation operations.
