About Perry Gerard

I am Vice Chairman of Radiology and Director of Radiology IT at New York Medical College (NYMC) and Chief of the Division of Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT at Westchester Medical Center. I am Professor of Radiology and Medicine at NYMC. I have Board Certifications in Diagnostic Radiology, Nuclear Radiology, and Board Certification in Nuclear Cardiology. I was formally Chief of the Division of Nuclear Medicine at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York for 20 years and was an Attending Radiologist at Maimonides since 1986. I have expertise in PET/CT, SPECT/CT, Diagnostic and Therapeutic Nuclear Examinations, Ultrasound, CT and General Diagnostic Radiology. I completed Level II training in Cardiovascular CT. I am a graduate of the Touro College Physician Assistant Program. I received my MBA degree from Touro University Worldwide in Health Administration Management I am enrolled for a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification and Certified Professional Healthcare Quality (CPHQ). I am the Founder and Director of the Annual "Tackle The Core" Nuclear Medicine Board Review Course, an intensive and unique review course for the nuclear section of the Radiology Board Examination which attracts a National and International audience for the past 10 years (formerly Nuclear Hot Seat Course). I am involved in the development of "Creative Medical Education" products for physician and patient education. I developed the website to illustrate these unique methods of teaching. I am also a songwriter and singer and have written 20 original songs. I am a musician and play the trumpet, guitar (6 and 12 string), banjo/guitar and keyboards. I also studied the art of magic, computer repair, boating, unicycling, juggling, and 3 styles of martial arts training. I am dedicated to improving Patient Safety and Education, Quality Assurance and Reduction in Medical Errors.
