Involved in the Public Benefit sector for >35 years Pesh works worldwide advising Public Benefit Entities, NPOs, NGOs, social enterprises, impact investors and their funders. He is a Chartered Accountant and consultant and advises on Governance, Culture, Risk, Strategy, Impact, Finance, Performance Measurement, Structures, Productivity, Effectiveness, Organisational Development, Business Development, Due Diligence, Resource Mobilisation, Change Management, Collaborative Working, Strategic Alliances, Counter Fraud / Anti corruption, Financial Reporting, Internal and External Audit and Assurance, tax matters, grant management etc. He carries out special reviews, provides training and works with social purpose organisations in all stages of their development. Pesh has been Special Advisor to the Charity Finance Group since its inception in 1987 and was the Partner leading the Social Purpose and Non Profit teams at Crowe, Deloitte, Arthur Andersen and BDO Binder Hamlyn. These teams when led by him have been listed as the lead provider of assurance services to charities in the UK for 30 consecutive years. A member of the Charity Law Association and CIPFA's Charities and Public Benefit Entity Faculty Board Pesh was also a Board Member of the Institute of Risk Management and has been and is non-executive on a number of non profit boards. He writes and presents at conferences internationally and is joint author of Charities - The Law and Practice and has written a book on Charity Trading. He was one of the Commissioners on the Charity Tax Commission which carried out a review of the UK charity tax system making recommendations to government. He has been appointed by the Charity Commission to act as interim manager of five charities. He has been a member of the UK Charity SORP Committee for over 20 years and was appointed as Technical Advisor in 2017. He was also a member of the Committee for Accounting for Public Benefit Entities and the ICAEW Charity Advisory Group and Chairs the ICAEW Charity Audit Insights Group. He is now a member of a working group that is developing International Financial Reporting Guidance for Non Profits. Pesh was awarded the Personality of the Year 2020 Award by the International Accounting Bulletin. He has also worked in the field with NGOs and Public Benefit Entities and is involved with many umbrella bodies internationally and often takes part in high level thought leadership in the sector. He is a committed conservationist with a passion for animals, wildlife and wild places.
