About Pete Border

I am the Game and Application Chairman at Minnesota School of Business - Richfield, where I teach a lot of classes in computer graphics and game design. I currently teach about a dozen classes covering everything from "What is a game?" to the deepest intricacies of the DirectX compute shaders. Previously I worked at MCAD, where I taught adjunct classes in physics and data visualization, and at the U of Minnesota, where I was a Senior Research Associate ( aka "postdoc") for 20 years. When I was at the U I did a lot of teaching. I taught the large Freshman classes several times, revamped the Honors labs, wrote and maintained an online quiz system and made my own class in Physics for Game Designers. I also designed and taught an online version of the algebra-based Freshman Physics course, complete with labs. This class is still going on and I am still teaching it. My Ph.D. Is from the University of Michigan in the field of particle physics. I worked at Fermilab on fixed-target experiments for my doctorate, then later on the Soudan 2 and MINOS experiments at the Tower-Soudan Underground State Park. I also worked on the SSC detector development. Specialties: Teaching game design, teaching physics, online physics teaching, physics research
