About Pete Butler

In my career I've been fortunate to be part of some great organizations and I've discovered that that the most important ingredient in great products is a motivated team working toward a shared vision. Every company works on the first part, but great companies get the second part right. Developers play a critical role in defining, communicating and maintaining that vision, and as I've progressed from a novice to an experienced software engineer those aspects of my job have become increasingly important. My goal is to use that experience to build great software at companies who share this philosophy. Most of my time at GE has been spent building the tooling and systems developers need to do their jobs. From DevOps through cloud architecture, my mantra has been to remove as much friction as possible and free our teams to focus on delivering value.
