About Pete Franklin

Pete is a Fellow in Extreme & Wilderness Medicine and is able to adapt to any operating environment and at any level within an organisation or project. This has seen Pete, move fluidly from frontline operations to the boardroom and all levels in between, operating & leading expedition, industrial, aviation and maritime medical teams. Pete has operated on frontline ambulances, rural and remote ground operations, multiple types of rotary and fixed wing SAR and aeromedical platforms as well as patrol boats, rigs, FPSO’s, OSV’s, & OCV's, giving him a great holistic perspective and an ability to find solutions to even the most difficult of issues. Contracting to various companies and through his own consultancy 'Caduceus Consulting', this has seen Pete operate in 20+ countries across 4 continents from Australia to Nepal, the arctic to deserts & the outback, from the oceans to the skies & with significant time on operations across Middle East.Most recent companies worked with include Chevron, Woodside, Boskalis, Van Oord, BHP, Marlu and Pete is also cleared to work Prelude and Curtis Island for Shell as & for the ADF on Crash Rescue Rotary assets as required through Medical Rescue.With an extensive education to Masters and Fellowship levels, Pete is a specialist paramedic practitioner, and in addition to his extreme & wilderness medical specialism, is trained in planning & logistics and to intensive / critical care level (AUS / US), aeromedical retrieval (UK / AUS) and as one of the first specialist Emergency Care Practitioners (Physician’s Assistant level in UK) & is able to bring insight, authority and a fresh perspective to any project and has operated on military, emergency service, humanitarian, exploration, industrial, maritime, aeromedical and Search & Rescue operations across the globe.
