Currently the Regional Field Applications Specialist - Genetic Testing Solutions - Clinical qPCR Applications at Thermo Fisher Scientific.(Territory - North America). Previously to taking on the role of specialist, served as Sr. Field Applications Scientist for qPCR, clinical applications and analytical validations.EXPERIENCEServed as a DNA Analyst in a government crime lab for over thirteen years. During that time, I had the opportunity to validate instrumentation, audit laboratories, and manage and train employees. I was the local CODIS Administrator for twelve years and also acted as the local training coordinator and Section Chief for the Forensic Biology Section. I also had the honor of receiving the Employee of the Year Award on three occasions.In addition to my DNA analyst resonsibilities, I was involved in Crime Scene Investigations and graduated from the Police Academy. I also was an Expert Witness in the courtroom in nearly a hundred trials.From Feb 2012 through October 2015, I utilized m my forensic science experience as an account manager at Sorenson Forensics. At Sorenson, I was able to apply my extensive background as a crime lab DNA analyst to labs across the country implementing new technologies, providing training, and serving casework needs via traditional STR technologies as well as YSTRs and ancestry testing.In October of 2015 I took on the position of Field Application Scientist at Thermo Fisher Scientific, covering the territory of Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico. From 2015-2018 provided qPCR and dPCR services and support for clinical and research laboratories. I also provide Analytical Validations for Health Care Content Laboratories. I am certified and/or trained to provide expertise on a variety of instrumentation including: QuantStudio 3,5,6,7, and 12K Flex, KingFisher Flex and Duo, OpenArray, QuantStudio 3D digital PCR utilizing Gene Expression, Genotyping, miRNA, and various panels including Respiratory Tract Microbiota, Urinary Tract Microbiota and Women's Health.In 2018 after becoming a Senior Field Applications Scientist, joined the clinical team, providing validations and application support for healthcare content laboratories. Then, in 2021 took on the role of Regional Field Applications Specialist for Clinical qPCR Applications for North America.
