About Pete Mason

I always loved jazz music. I started in the seventies listening to Grover Washington Jr, George Benson, Herbie Hancock,and the Crusaders. I slowly began listening to Miles and Coltrane along with the other great musicians of that era. I am not a fan of the Smooth Jazz format since it drowns the essence of jazz music with no improvisational and vocals from other genres of music. Since I graduated from Howard University I always wanted to be in radio and television. Since I was unsuccessful having a career in broadcasting, I decided to start a jazz station that covers all genres. Another focus of mine is to educate people. It’s important that I teach my students the fundamentals of the subject they are learning. In order to win with this balance in mind, my focus is to identify students strengths and weakness and develop a method to improve flaw areas.
