Background

About Pete Nelson

AWS, Serverless, Java, C#, Databases, Amazon SPAPI, APIs AWS Certified Co founder of Docker brewery and sourdough bakery. Experienced Web and App developer working in small companies in the industry since At GAIIFF we are working on data processing with Machine Learning for Amazon resellers Previously co-founder of QuickCast with long-term collaborator Neil Kinnish. Quickcast was acquired by Lookback Inc in 2015 where it was integrated into their UX recording product suite Quickcast was Loom before Loom existed - short screencasts that you could share with people via links. It was featured on the Mac app store and we got a lot of users that way including the Squarespace support team. Screen recording in Chrome wasn't quite ready at that point and when it did become ready Neil developed that for Lookback which became the most widely used product of their platform. I stayed on a Lookback for 3 years whilst founding our local artisan brewery and bakery with friend and collaborator Wes Burden Before Quickcast I was co-founder of Mixture (http://mixture.io) an html prototyping and static-site tool for mac and pc, invested in by Redgate Software Origin story: I did History at uni and failed to make it as a musician or gain any kind of meaningful employment beyond admin jobs and even conducting on buses in Birmingham In I got a MSc in Computer Science which changed everything - my end of year product was a mobile email client built on Java for mobile phones that didn't have an html browser (it was early days still!). I also learnt my biggest skill to date - to type search terms into Google. I then worked in London and Sydney on commercial web apps and marketing sites. In 2005 I pitched with a small video production company to win the contract for a group-based training system for all of E.ON UK’s sites - which I built and scaled to two other power generators. Still in use today it keeps contractors safe in sites all over the UK. After freelancing for a couple of years I invested in, and became a director at, award-winning design agency TAK! Design. We built some brilliant data-driven websites such as and We closed the company to pursue product ideas whilst doing some bits of consultancy to make ends meet. After plenty of ideas and prototyping Neil Kinnish asked me to help develop his idea of a social recruitment app - Workfu.com. Mike Kus (http://mikekus.com) and Adam Martin came on board as co-founders. WorkFu was acquired in late 2012. We then moved onto Mixture and QuickCast.
