Manufacturing Engineer. 2001-Jan 2018 - When starting a project I identify the main goals and establish when the new process can be implemented into production and a completion date of the project. When complete I explain the completion to the Supervisor and create a folder with all the information on the project- Key design points used in material handling carts involve ergonomic considerations to allow the use of hoists or lift trucks to load the parts on the carts, elimination of product damage using foam or Teflon, and the reduction of footprint to utilize our floor space inside the work cells- Electrical workbench designs allow the assembler to reach the wire, terminals, and tools needed to complete the panel or asemblies without leaving the bench- I tested a one step pretreatment chemical to prepare sheet metal parts for a baked enamel paint to improve the paint quality over our air dry paint process. I designed and coordinated the inhouse construction of the dip tank, oven, and the work instructions to bake enamel parts- Created a build to the job process that reduced the stocking of sheet metal assemblies by constructing the assemblies as the customer orders them- Programming of Trumpf punch press to create new programs for the build to the job process and also programmed the punch press to punch the access port holes that were being cut by hand in another operation. This project saved money with the elimination of the secondary operation and more accurate location of the port holes reducing rework- Programming of a database software that allows a marketing clerk to anwser muliple choice questions to create a bill of material for 15 different size chambers.
