About Pete Whiting

I am a senior educational leader with a proven record of shaping strategic direction, driving innovation and fostering a culture of care and excellence in K–12 school communities. With over 15 years’ experience across curriculum leadership, wellbeing, professional learning and strategic operations, I bring a unique combination of vision, innovation and relational leadership. Currently serving as Director of Teaching and Learning and Coordinator of Wellbeing and Learning at the Central West Leadership Academy, I lead strategic initiatives that integrate academic rigour and holistic wellbeing, ensuring students and staff thrive. I have acted effectively as Deputy Principal and Head of Senior School, and regularly as Relieving Principal, providing operational and cultural stability during leadership transitions. A passionate advocate for evidence-based practice, I have designed and implemented innovative curricula at HSC and junior levels, including gamified and flipped learning programs. My published research, conference presentations and professional development work have contributed to the wider profession while building staff capacity and confidence within my teams. I believe in education as a transformative force and lead through visibility, integrity and a deep commitment to students, staff and the broader community.
