Impact Investing has proven to offer answers and solutions to these challenges by empowering people and allowing them to shape their own lives and futures. Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to see these encouraging stories first hand during numerous journeys to emerging and frontier markets. A major lesson learned from this is giving people trust and ownership is key to achieving lasting and valuable impact. I firmly believe that the private sector has both the responsibility and the strength to make a positive impact in this world. Making conscious use of capital to address the challenges of our time is the only way forward. I am very proud of being the Chairman and former CEO of the pioneer impact investor BlueOrchard that has supported more than 200 million people across emerging and frontier markets. This year BlueOrchard celebrates its 20th anniversary. It is a great honour to be part of this exciting journey - meeting many exceptional people – be it micro-entrepreneurs with the firm will to succeed, investors dedicated to making a positive impact, or professionals who are determined to use their expertise for the greater good.
