About Peter Alan Smith

Overcoming RP, a degenerative eye disorder, has made me a stronger person. After facing up to the shock of losing much of my eyesight, I determined to maintain a secure job while learning more about assistive aids and computer access technologies. As this software improved, my IT skills became better than most sighted persons and I advanced in my job. Meanwhile, with the support of my employer, I began training for the Paralympic Games. While crossing the finish line at the Boston Marathon and racing my tandem bicycle on international Olympic Velodromes, I turned a burden into a life-affirming expression. Further successes - and a growing self-assurance - led to taking on more challenges, including earning a Masters Degree at Harvard and accepting the responsibility of volunteer work—all while holding down a full-time job. Having graduated on the Dean’s List with honors, and developing exceptional computer skills and information-acquisition techniques, I am now poised to engage in new challenges. My primary focus is on International Business Development, but my aim is eclectic. Specialties: Tri-Citizenship United States, Canada, & Great Britain.
