About Peter Allison

My career path has taken me through a range of educational settings, both local and international, allowing me to broaden my skills and gain a rich background in primary school curriculum and leadership. Currently, I am the Head of The King's School Preparatory School, a leading independent boys' school in Sydney. King's is a lighthouse school in the areas of character development, boys' education and residential education, with an outstanding academic and extra-curricular programme. Prior to this appointment, I was the Acting Head of Elementary School at the Australian International School (AIS) in Singapore with leadership across three subschools of Preschool, Junior School and Primary School and responsibility for approximately 1600 students and 160 staff members. The dynamic role operated within a transient environment that required high levels of communication to develop and maintain trust, and capitalise on the richness of the diverse community. Before taking up the position in Singapore, I enjoyed 16 years in the independent Sydney boys’ schools of Trinity Grammar Preparatory School, Strathfield, and The King’s School Preparatory School, Parramatta. The last seven and a half years at King’s was spent in the role of Deputy Head of the Preparatory School and leader of the teaching and learning curriculum.
