About Peter Ampe

After getting my Master degree in Linguistics and Literature, I started out as a language teacher to political refugees and working as a freelance journalist. At 29, I moved to the advertising world, aiming to make it less about advertising and more about authenticity. Because, actually I hate advertising. Today I'm regarded as one of Europe's leading creative directors, known for my strong sense of purpose and a focus on innovative thinking. My track record includes 45 Cannes Lions and 21 Effie Awards. I was part of industry leading juries several times and wrote the first handbook for case study movies. Being neurodivergent myself, I am most proud of my book 'Great Minds Think Unalike', published by Lannoo and highlighting the strengths of neurodivergent minds. In 2024 my agency AKQA Brussels was the first Belgian agency to win the title of Agency Of The Year, Creative Agency and Digital Creative Agency in the same year. I'm the proud father of three children and married to a real entrepreneur, the co-founder of Bright Lights, the first consultancy agency uniting gifted profiles to tackle company problems.
