About Peter Ashdown-Knights

I am currently working at Horndean Technology College teaching Computer Science, IT, and Business having gained a PGCE with the University of Portsmouth. During my training, I completed two successful placements at Mayfield School and Cams Hill School. Working as part of an energised, efficient, and productive team is the dream. My superpower is ensuring that the dream remains, that every member of a team gets to focus on what they excel at. My ultimate goal was to work as a Producer in videogames. However, I started University originally to become a teacher and I have followed through with that path, to gain demonstrative experience in management on that journey. I value learning at every stage, taking the opportunity to upskill whenever possible. In 2020, during lockdown, I completed both a Level 3 Body Massage Qualification and a Level 5 TEFL qualification. In 2023, I completed a PGCE in Computing to start my career in Teaching. I've led many successful projects at University including a thriving Holistics Society, a unique technical demonstration in videogame design, and performances in theatre. I've led an international team to success in an e-sport and was a part of the National UK team. I've also participated in Southampton Game Jam and I am seeking more opportunities to practise game development skills in context. My diverse skill-set has enabled me to see many sides to each challenge, to understand and facilitate the needs of all involved. As an actor, I can co-operate with all members of a production team with a developed understanding of the work they're undertaking. As a teacher, I've been involved in most of the roles in an education environment, from care-taking, catering, to admin, and this has led me to respecting and valuing each individual for their contribution. As an actor, I've worked with the likes of the Royal Shakespeare Company, Goodwood, and the Pauline Quirke Academy.
