Educator, plant evolution researcher, conservation biologist, biogeographer, and conservation geneticist: I conduct field and lab research directed toward understanding plant evolution, ancestral biogeography and trait development, as well as the impact of climate change, non-native species, and other pressures, in the effort to preserve biodiversity and prevent extinction of endangered species. Completed a self-designed, multidisciplinary Ph.D. in plant conservation and evolution, securing nearly all funding via grant and research proposal writing. Skilled in GIS data management and analysis. Extensive background in predictive modeling and analytics, statistical data analysis, and graphics in R. Versed in laboratory-to-publication pipelines in genetic analysis. Experienced field biologist, including in remote and extreme wilderness habitats.
