About Peter Bettinger

Receiving a master degree in digital intelligence engineering with a major in software modeling, I was ready to go for my first IT-startup. In cooperation with a couple of key clients, the company was developing tools for detailed analyzing of complex manufacturing processes. These tools are deployed globally in various production lines mainly in the automotive industry. After selling this enterprise, I was broadening my education with a MBA study in the U.S, putting a special focus on the field of global operations. Leveraging this knowledge, I was working as an operations engagement manager for one of the leading international consultant companies. During this time I was developing optimization measures in international corporations across functions and industries, resulting in profitability increases at a variety of client value chains. Combining experiences in value chain optimiziaton in a competitive business environment with long term IT-architecture modeling and implementation know-how, I continued to develop tools and services to increase value chain profitability with a new venture named "e-valuachain". Solutions were implemented by internal and external sources of a global partner network, using web application technologies like HTML, CSS and ASP.Net with C#. Mastering the challenges and opportunities of the digital transformation coming with industry 4.0 was the focus of my work in the coorperate development division of "Deutsche Bahn". I was part of the management team, which is building various intitatives to improve the overall competitivness in the intermodal travel market, by using new cooperate functions like a digital lab for rapid prototyping. In my current position at Finance 4 DB I am ramping up a Center of Excellence in Data Science driving the optimization of end to end processes in procurement, accounting and planning. Our focus is on data integration, data mining and predictive analysis, implemented with tools like R and Phyton.
