About Peter Boevink

With a background in Software Development I worked on different projects and in different environments. Some of them where good other where bad. And some really made me feel unhappy. Most of the times I felt unhappy this was caused by different factors where I felt we where not adding any significant value or our opinions where ignored and I felt unheard and many more. When I started with Scrum as part of a development team I soon recognized options to bring back joy in my work. I felt appreciated and our results really meant something. We where told to be the experts and where given the power to spend time on quality and automation. It was amazing how this joy had impact on so many aspects of our activities but also our personal lives. But I have also experienced Scrum projects where the magic was missing… Why? Because they where not real Scrum projects. The Scrum Values where missing, Scrum Roles where not properly being executed and ownership was given to the wrong people/role. This resulted in some disappointing project results for both business and team members. Actually it also resulted in a negative association with the framework Scrum for some people. But I had tasted the magic and knew it’s potential and wanted to go back. I found out I could be part of that journey by fulfilling the role of Scrum Master and I enjoyed it! I felt satisfied in my new position and decided to go for it.
