About Peter Bowater

I have approximately 13 years management experience, the last seven of these has been Job Networks/Job Service Providers although I started life out as a Boilermaker some 30 years ago. In February of 2015 I completed a Post Graduate Diploma of Teaching and Learning and after gaining teachers registration I began working as a primary school teacher in the State and Catholic Education sectors. Currently I am teaching Grade 5 students at Saint Anthony’s Catholic College in Deeragun. The school is delightful and very focused on allowing and developing its students and the community to SHINE. It has a shared approach with the parents and carers being both valued and necessary in the process on ensuring that the children are to reach their true potential. I am involved with a broad, comprehensive and well-balanced curriculum. With the delivery of such a curriculum I am exposed and involved with an environment that has an emphasis on higher order skills for problem solving, research, creativity and innovation. It is both challenging and one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Prior to this I was employed as the Business Manager for Jobfind Centre’s Australia in Townsville. A most enjoyable role as was centered on of changing peoples behaviors and their lives, hopefully for the better. Over the years I have gained broad experiences with market analysis and reporting, customer service and support, the design, implementation and scheduling of resources, program design, coordination and implementation, as well as the development and maintenance of key stakeholders to ensure long term business opportunities and partnerships. I possess highly developed communication, interpersonal, consultation and negotiation skills, and am able to utilize these skills to effectively liaise with a broad range of staff, clients and the community.
