About Peter Boyer

I'm a composer whose works have received over 600 public performances by American orchestras, including many of the most prominent, such as the Boston Symphony, Philadelphia Orchestra, Cleveland Orchestra, Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, Cincinnati Pops, Pittsburgh Symphony, Houston Symphony, Dallas Symphony, and Nashville Symphony; and tens of thousands of broadcasts on classical radio stations around the U.S. and abroad. My Grammy-nominated work "Ellis Island: The Dream of America" was produced with the Pacific Symphony and telecast nationally on PBS'"Great Performances" series. This major work has been performed over 250 times by more than 100 orchestras. I've conducted recordings of my music with three of the world's leading orchestras: the London Symphony, London Philharmonic, and Philharmonia, including two albums at Abbey Road Studios. My most recent commissions have been from the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, for a work which was premiered by the National Symphony Orchestra during the Kennedy Center's 50th anniversary season (2021-22), and from the United States Marine Band, for a fanfare which was premiered at the Inauguration of President Biden. I've also contributed music orchestrations to many films from all the major movie studios, working for a number of top Hollywood composers, including James Newton Howard, Thomas Newman, and Michael Giacchino. I've composed music for The History Channel, orchestrated music for Academy Awards telecasts, and my music has appeared in a variety of television programs.
