About Peter Brookes

I joined Connect-Up Support Services as an MIS Consultant in Oct 2009 following 5 years as a Data Manager in a Dorset Secondary school so I have real-world experience in Education. Before this, I had various roles in Educational IT support having been a network manager and a member of Dorset’s Educational Support Team for 10 years. I have personal experience of the pressures schools are under and understands the importance of saving support staff time and energy. As a lead member of the Connect-Up Consultancy Team for Assessment, Attendance, Curriculum Planning and Timetabling, I am currently leading Connect-Up Support Services drive to help schools make more use of their existing Capita SIMS systems. I am particularly keen on helping schools make the most of their data and preparing schools for Ofsted. I am currently working on a project to give schools a tool kit to help in these inspections. I am always on the end of the phone to help schools answer the inspector’s difficult questions. I decided to get my mid-life crisis out of way early and was a blacksmith for 3 years between ICT jobs. Being married with two children, I spend most of my spare time with them but what few free hours I do have I spends lamp-working glass and creating glass beads and sculptures. I now sell my work and take regular commissions.
