About Peter Buchanan

Graduated from the U of A with a BSc. in Petroleum Engineering in 2011- Three years of field experience with E & Ps, both operating and engineering. From turning valves and wrenches, to taking samples I understand how the industry works on the front lines- Have developed various tools for the companies I've worked for to help monitor casing integrity, visualize wellbore trajectories, model steam distribution along horizontal wells and more. These tools have resulted in hundreds of hours saved and capabilities to increase recovery by hundreds of thousands of barrels- Highly experienced in CSS, SAGD and Steamflood for thermal bitumen recovery and have also worked in both conventional and unconventional gas. I am well rounded, versatile and have had success in a lot of different places- Accomplished in cement bond log interpretations; I am currently responsible for vetting all logs in CNRL's Primrose field- Exceptional when it comes to production optimization. Have been responsible for running areas anywhere from - bbls/d and found optimization improvements by as much as 900 bbls/d on a single well- Knowledgeable when it comes to acid stims, perfs, and other stimulation techniques- Great team player and easy to work with!
