About Peter Burell

Since autumn 2006 I have worked at Service Administration IT Within Region Stockholm in various responsible functions. Most recently, since 2016-01-01, I hold the role of Solution and Domain-architect for the system integration Services within Region Stockholm, Service Management-IT. The role means a structural and strategic responsibility, but also a responsibility that the services and functions are well documented. Both from a process perspective, as well as from a commercial perspective. The role also includes being tactically planned by the development of these Regional functions. The role as solution architect requires of me, that I am familiar with the needs of electronic exchange that exists within IT in the Region, and what laws, rules & regulations are applicable in the area of information management. It includes listening to different customers and users’ needs, as well as their wish lists. I will then ensure that these requests and requirements are transformed into a technical solution, which must be stable and secure, and that the handling complies with applicable regulatory and legal requirements. Both in terms of operational as well as within information security, since this is an area that handles a lot of classified data. As a Domain Architect for the Integration Area, I will develop guidelines and principles for the area, and be involved in various procurements, such as the establishment of New Karolinska Hospital, the “The future EHR” (FVM), and the Centralized Regional IT Services. Within these two roles, I have great advantage in the fact that I have a broad basic competence in the technical field, and that I am high skilled in communication with people, both in speech and writing. I always strive to keep order in my surroundings and consider myself being a structured person. The fact that I also have great ability to stay calm in critical and troubled situations means that I am considered a very stable, safe and credible person. I have benefited greatly from this, as I also served as Incident Manager for the entire SLL IT in standby time for a couple of years. I have in large potions also worked with process development and establishment of routines regarding both internal resources and with resources that the service normally not is associated with. Before my position as Architect, I was responsible for the delivery of Integration service within Region Stockholm. The role as responsible owner meant a budget responsibility of approximately 40 MSEK/year.
