About Peter Carchia

I am a Sophomore at Fordham Gabelli School of Business majoring in Finance. I am part of the Investment Banking Society, Alternative Investments Club-Buyside Bootcamp, as well as Club Golf. I have developed leadership and team-building skills through my involvement in these clubs, as well as before college when I pursued a competitive international swimming career for 12 years at Berkeley Aquatic Club.This past summer I pursued an internship as a V.C. Analyst. I developed skills to understand how to evaluate whether a potential investment would match our thesis. I also participated in frequent deal flow calls, which allowed me to learn about the primary deals the fund was pursuing. Additionally, I spent significant time in contact with founders, which provided me with hands-on analysis experience. I also pursued a one-month study abroad in Venice. During this time abroad I pursued an anthropology course, which allowed me to learn about the cultural differences in Venice. Through an anthropological lens, I drew my own conclusions as to why the locals of Venice are being pushed out of the city.Through my V.C. internship, I discovered my enthusiasm for being part of transitional periods for companies and leveraging their success. I am now interested in gaining experience in investment banking to have the opportunity to work with companies at different growth stages and analyze what provides a company with a competitive edge in their industry.
