About Peter Carter

I’m a mining engineer with over 40 years of experience in mine engineering, operations, and project development across North America, Africa, Asia, and Europe. Over the years, I’ve used my technical background to help maximize project value and keep operations aligned with business goals. I’m a hands-on leader who communicates well and enjoys bringing together diverse teams to get things done in all kinds of environments, whether geographic, cultural, or regulatory. Throughout my career, I’ve played a key role in moving major mining projects forward. As a COO and project lead, I helped take a oz/year gold project in West Africa from feasibility through to construction. In Central Asia, I led a copper operation that doubled its open-pit production from to tonnes per day. At one of the world’s highest-elevation gold mines in Kyrgyzstan, I oversaw a ramp-up to tpd, significantly improving safety and cutting costs in the process. I’ve also worked on projects in Canada, Mongolia, and Ukraine, consistently driving progress through increased throughput, faster timelines, and better safety and compliance outcomes.
