About Peter Chhoy

Peter is a PhD Student in the Cell Biology Program at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Originally from Massachusetts, he graduated the University of Notre Dame and Duke University School of Medicine.Broadly speaking, he is interested in how cells deal with metabolic stress and how cellular pathways are rewired in response to physiological stress conditions and the aging process. His current work focuses on understanding the metabolic and genomic regulatory mechanisms of cell death induction and resistance as it relates to aging, cancer biology, and neurodegeneration.Prior to his time at Gerstner Sloan Kettering, Peter worked several years work in management consulting working with top Biotech/Pharma companies and currently works at Qiming Venture Partners as a Mohamed Chaoui Venture Fellow, where he is responsible for evaluating early stage biotech startups/companies across a wide breadth of therapeutic areas and drug embodiment approaches as well as company creations efforts in the firm.He enjoys competitive marathon running, cycling, playing tennis, kayaking, and is actively involved in the NYC Biotech Startup/Venture Capital communities, where he chairs several biotech organizations including Nucleate as the Managing Director of the New York chapter.He can be contacted via email at chhoyp@mskcc.org.
