Background

About Peter Creveling

At Sandia, my research is focused on multi-physics modeling for thermal protection systems and for marine energy applications at the mesoscale. Prior to Sandia, I received my Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Utah where I investigated and quantified the resulting microstructure of fiber-reinforced composites by leveraging X-ray computed tomography. My research interests include fiber reinforced composites, polymer matrix composites, ceramic matrix composites, finite element analysis, image processing, computer vision, X-ray computed tomography, and python coding. In my free time, you can find me outside enjoying all four seasons of my home state of Utah. Additionally, I am a sports photographer for Imagn Images (formerly USA Today Sports Images) and you can find me behind the lens of a camera on the sidelines of professional sporting events. When I’m not working, photographing or recreating, I’m traveling around the country (and Canada) to achieve my goal of visiting every MLB stadium and seeing a home game with my wife.
