I have been in the peoples skill/customer service/mental health business for many years before I ever had formal education or title. That is why I do believe this work chose me, I din't choose it. In fact, this falls into a long line of things/careers I swore I would never do but was wrong! I have shared from my first experiences that my perspective is it reminded me of attending a family reunion and we always have someone dealing with an issue (can be whatever). We are helping the person with the issue. The issue may be transitory (acute) or a chronic issue that is long term. Either way, you care for and support those in need right where they are. Sometimes lives are impacted immediately, other through time, we just never know when, where or how we may benefit another person. I pray that I am that guy who helps and does no harm.
