About Peter Duerden

A Developer and Solution Architect with over 20 years proven experience in successfully delivering a wide range of software solutions with demonstrable experience covering the full project lifecycle. I adopt a dedicated, professional and innovative approach in all of my projects, using appropriate technologies to deliver solutions which meet the customer's requirements. I have a broad knowledge base in web technologies, client side and server side solutions at both design and detailed level, primarily in Microsoft offerings such as ASP.NET MVC, Windows Communication Foundation, Windows Workflow and Windows Azure, but more recently I have moved into cross-platform mobile development using Xamarin and C#. As a quick learner, I am able to utilise new technologies to bring added benefit to my projects. I am also an effective team player, whether operating as a team leader or team member and in both roles I am able to coach, develop and mentor junior staff. I am very much a hands-on architect and involve myself in all areas of solution development, from design to full implementation, including costing, planning and estimating. My particular area of interest is in the emerging cloud/web technologies. In my projects, I was an early adopter of Microsoft Azure, have used the MVC pattern and have provided successful Web API & UI solutions based on the Microsoft MVC stack hosted in Azure. I have also made extensive use of the Entity Framework and SQL Server in these projects and I act as a technical consultant to others using these technologies for the first time. More recently I have been developing for containers, using Docker, Docker Swarm, Kubernetes etc. and associated technologies.
