About Peter Easton

Experienced Training Manager with a demonstrated history of working in the mechanical engineering industry. Skilled in Career Development, Captivate, Coaching, Training Needs Analysis, and Technical Documentation. I have been at the WTP/Hanford project now for 5 years and I am looking to expand my horizons. While I enjoy being in the training department, I believe it’s time to look at the next step in my career. I have spent many years in training and feel that the skills and knowledge I have gained are very transferable to many other areas of business. Before focusing my career on training. I started my working life as an apprentice welder fabricator. During this time, I was lucky enough to gain my degree in mechanical engineering and ship design. After becoming a master welder fabricator, I left the dirty work behind and attended university where I gained my degree in education design and technology. I worked my way up from training and instruction of apprentices to master mechanics and machinists. I then received a role as the training manager for the largest wet wipe manufacturers in the world where I implemented a train the trainer program and on shift trainers. I then travelled to America looking for work and personal development. I had a job as a welding and fabrication manager for a small machining firm and I also had a job as a facility manager for a data inputting company. At this point I decided to enter back into the training realm and became a training specialist for chemical weapon demilitarization project in Kentucky. After 5 years there I became a training specialist at the WTP project and quickly made it to a training supervisor position. I have been able to transfer skills gained from my positions and believe they have made me more rounded in my professional and personal life. I continue to grow and learn, and I am ready for the next opportunity and continue my adventure.
