About Peter Fleet

I currently lead on Youth Development Programmes at Groundwork, designing and delivering projects across London and South of England. I am also CEO for Raising Youth, a locally based charity in Medway, Kent. I am a skilled project manager, a professionally qualified youth worker, an outdoor learning specialist, a skilled trainer and public speaker. I have international development experience, managing joint youth programmes across Europe and Africa. I was honoured to be awarded the Commonwealth Youth Worker Award by the Commonwealth Secretariat and National Youth Agency (NYA). I have over 15 years experience in various finance roles: management accounts in Central Government; as a charity treasurer; and a financial advisor. I have also managed annual budgets in excess of £2m. I have a sound analytical approach. I take steps to measure progress and celebrate success; I learn from good practice, and more so, when things do not go to plan. My cross-sector career, education, and experience, alongside my personal skills-set has enabled me to achieve elevated levels of success. I have a breadth of experience in the charity sector as a CEO, Director, and a Trustee. In senior roles, I have led on strategic and developmental work for youth, education, and community projects across the UK, and internationally. I am committed to energising and diversifying projects whilst successfully promoting and profiling organisational strategy, vision, and values. I maintain a strong commitment to inclusive practice. It is fundamental that the needs of individuals and diversity of communities, are understood and reflected in all aspects of my life and work; ensuring all manner of oppressive and discriminatory behaviour is appropriately challenged.
