About Peter Godfrey

In the year I took a gamble and have never regretted it! What gamble? For the first time in my life, I resigned from a job, with no job to go to! That may seem a bad move and maybe something I shouldn’t admit to, but it was the right move! I was a good student at school! My grades were good and I was never one for playing truant. I went straight from school into work, with no college or university (Privately studying with the Open University years later). While my schoolteachers expected me to have a good career, my first job was as a postman. From there, I found it tough to get any office-based jobs, without experience or a degree and I found myself moving between jobs that were easy, but not stimulating… Driving jobs, security etc. In I was determined to get an office based job so I made the big jump. I resigned from my security job and registered as a temp, giving me the chance to showcase myself, which led to me finally getting a job I really wanted to be in. I’m sure I would still be in that job, if our team wasn’t disbanded and made redundant Undeterred, with better experience, a proven record of hard work and desire, I soon found myself in a role I was truly passionate about! I spent the next 11 years in customer service. I passionately hate poor customer service, whether in the business world or just buying a pizza! I excelled at this! I was always able to place myself in the mind of my customer and provide the level of service they required. I moved internally into a more senior role, before Covid-19 led to redundancy Just like in this is just another step onwards and I am excited about what lies ahead! Never one to be shy, away from the office, I enjoy karaoke, where I have also enjoyed success, winning thousands of pounds in competition prizes. I am also a season ticket holder with Reading FC Women and am a passionate fan of Ice Hockey. In the past, I have tried playing and refereeing, as well as a little journalism
