About Peter Goekjian

I have been a Research Professor for 20 years in Organic Chemistry in the United States and in France, in particular the total synthesis of natural products with a focus on the structural basis for biological activity. I am currently a full professor at the Universite de Lyon, where I am director of a research group of 20-30 people (depending on the year) in carbohydrate chemistry. I have consulted with a pharmaceutical company on process optimization at their production plant. I am co-founder of a startup Pharma company, GALKEM srl, that was created to develop new drugs based targeting oncogenic fusion proteins of ALK. I am currently the coordinator for the second year Master's program in Synthesis, Catalysis, and Sustainable Chemistry at the Universite Lyon 1 Specialties: Total synthesis, carbohydrate chemistry, early drug discovery, ATP-competitive inhibitors (protein kinases, sirtuins, guanidine kinases, creatine kinases, etc.). Organic mechanisms applied to process optimization.
