About Peter Goodwin
I qualified as a physiotherapist in 1997 and earned my PhD from King’s College, London in 2006. Since joining Manchester Metropolitan University in 2005, following my role as a Senior Physiotherapist, I have been an active member of the CSP, HCPC, and a Senior Fellow of the HEA. I lead and teach units across undergraduate and postgraduate physiotherapy programmes. My leadership roles include overseeing Postgraduate Research (2014), the interprofessional MSc in Advanced Practice Health and Social Care (2018), and the Professional Doctorate in Health and Social Care (2022). I also supervise and examine PhD students globally in various research methodologies. With an international track record in physiotherapy, spine rehabilitation, and sports injury research, I am passionate about health behaviour and healthcare quality improvement. My work has been supported by competitive research funding from prestigious organizations such as the NHS, Health Education England, Nuffield, and Manchester City Football Club.
