About Peter Grunert

I work at the intersection of capital markets and social impact, helping investors and organizations deploy resources effectively to address our most pressing challenges. As a Partner at Bridgespan, my work centers on helping leading global investors (pension funds, PE/VC impact funds, and family offices) integrate impact investing into their core strategies. I support these clients throughout the entire investment process: from fund strategy and deal sourcing to due diligence and impact measurement and value creation. Most of my clients are confidential, but publicly disclosed clients include BlackRock, Capricorn, Lime Rock New Energy, and the Low Income Investment Fund. In addition to my impact investing work, I partner closely with major philanthropists and foundations such as TED’s Audacious Project, Co-Impact, Ford Foundation, Rockefeller Foundation, and several confidential family offices. My focus is on amplifying the effectiveness of their philanthropy and creating stronger alignment between their grantmaking and impact investing strategies. I also provide strategic advice to critical nonprofit organizations (including Woodwell Climate Research Center, Catholic Charities, Pursuit and many more) to sharpen their strategies, refine their operating models, and position them for sustainable growth and increased impact. My approach to impact work is shaped by early career experiences, first in global capital markets at Citigroup, and then through a year of service with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps at a Catholic Charities homeless shelter, an experience that continues to inform my approach to leadership, community, and service. I earned my MBA from Yale, passed all three CFA exams on my first attempt, and hold CFA certifications in climate finance and impact investing.
