About Peter Guild

I joined Merrill Lynch Wealth Management in 2010 and have twenty- six years of financial services experience helping affluent individuals and families. I enjoy working in trusted relationships and being a careful listener. I help clients understand and articulate their goals and build strategies to create opportunities and happiness for their families. Through a comprehensive planning approach, I help clients reduce stress, gain confidence, and achieve financial security. I am particularly inclined to Sustainable Impact strategies for those clients who want to invest with the goal of making the world more environmentally sustainable, equitable, and compassionate. I earned my BA at Amherst College and my Masters Degree at Duke University. I spent 22 years as a career military Army officer before becoming a financial advisor in 1996. I taught Political Science at West Point and served in combat with a Cavalry Squadron in Operation Desert Storm and the liberation of Kuwait. I served as the Professor of Military Science at Duke University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. My wife and I live in Chapel Hill.
