About Peter Harper

With 25 years in the quarrying and mining industry, I've held roles as a Surveyor, Shotfirer, Supervisor, and now in Technical Services. I've worked in quarries across Victoria and Tasmania, coal mining in Queensland, and hard rock mining in Northern Queensland. Currently based in Victoria, I work with customers to implement safer blasting initiatives that enhance performance and ensure compliance with regulations and community standards. I'm passionate about supporting the industry through education, training, and practical experience. My approach is problem-solving, team-oriented, and always striving for continuous learning and professional growth. Key Achievements: Presenting Blasting Courses. Collaborating with Melbourne Airport in the design phase for the third runway. Leading the Burnie Highway alignment project, improving road safety by blasting through a hazardous hill sections. Developing the Wyndham Vale residential development with safe and effective blasting practices within proximity of infrastructure and residential development. Member of the IQA & CMPA.
