About Peter Harris

My high school passion for cooking turned into a thirty-year career leading amazing culinary teams. I hung up my apron for good in 2022. While I loved professional cooking, I wanted to pursue my other passion, writing.This led me to enroll in the English program at Carleton University in 2020. I earned my BA in English with a 10.10 (A-) CGPA in December 2023. I have always been fascinated with language, and I spent most of my electives studying Linguistics.Feeling that there was still a lot of room to develop my writing skills I enrolled in the Technical Writing program at Algonquin College in fall 2023. I made the Dean’s list in both terms with a 3.9 (A+) GPA, while learning information architecture, content management, data visualization, UX design, and editing.Through the Technical Writing program, I developed skills authoring structured documents such as white papers, proposals, tutorials, user guides and quick reference guides, using tools like GitHub, MadCap Flare, Microsoft Project and PowerPoint, as well as Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.
