About Peter Heusler

Working as a Patent Counsel / Patent Engineer at the Pierre Fabre Group since 2018, I am in charge of a wide range of our patent portfolio in the areas of pharmacy, OTC and medical devices. My training included the French Patent Engineer qualification via the Diploma at the Center for International Intellectual Property Studies (CEIPI) at the Strasbourg University, option "Patents" in 2019/2020 (accelerated cycle; Diplôme d'Etudes Internationales de la Propriété Intellectuelle du CEIPI - Option Brevets d'Invention en Cycle Accéléré, année universitaire 2019/2020, mention bien). Former position as a Preclinical Research Scientist in the Pierre Fabre CNS Innovation Unit and the Cellular & Molecular Biology Research Unit, in charge of in vitro cellular and electrophysiological assays in the context of diverse drug discovery projects, notably in neuropharmacology. I dispose of a strong background in in vitro pharmacology and electrophysiology, mainly focussed on GPCRs, ion channels and neurotransmitter transporters. I obtained my basic qualifications as an electrophysiologist during my diploma and PhD thesis at the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz, Germany, where I performed experiments using extracellular and intracellular recordings from brain slices. A complementary aspect of my career is my interest for the area of philosophy, where I obtained a MA degree at the University of Mainz in and where I keep on trying to broaden my horizons since.
