About Peter Hodgson

I’m an experienced writer, editor, social media manager and customer service wiz with a history of high-profile musical instrument industry work. I was in social media and marketing at Seymour Duncan for six years, News & Features writer for Gibson USA for six years, and have been a contributor to Mixdown since 2006 and Australian Guitar since 2008. I've also run my own popular guitar blog, I Heart Guitar, since 2008. I Heart Guitar has Twitter followers, Facebook, and decent followings on YouTube, Instagram and TikTok. Everything I do is about communication. Telling stories, formulating corporate voice guidelines, handling customer support queries, connecting brands with audiences, hosting or speaking on music industry panels for trade and the consumer, listening to the needs of a guitar buyer and getting the right gear into their hands… As an artist relations manager I’ve worked with bands such as Guns N Roses, Evanescence and Slipknot. As a podcaster I’ve interviewed music greats, comedians and industry insiders. I’ve ghostwritten, I’ve taught guitar, I’ve worked on marketing campaigns from conception to execution. I’ve chaperoned and driven talent for VIP events, and worked on busy convention booths (you ever see NAMM on a Saturday? I thrive on that stuff). Basically, if you have a story to tell, I want to help tell it. And if you have products to sell, I want to help you sell them, online or right there on the shop floor.
