About Peter Hutchison
I graduated with my Au.D. from the University of South Florida in May of 2016 after completing a 4th year externship at Vitale Institute, ENT in Wesley Chapel Florida. I recently obtained my Ph.D. in Communication Sciences and Disorders and I am a full time research audiologist at the Auditory & Speech Science Laboratory in the Global Center for Hearing and Speech Research under the direction and mentorship of Dr. David A. Eddins. I am particularly interested in the treatment hearing loss through hearing aids and the neural plasticity that occurs following hearing loss and treatment for hearing loss. My current focus is studying the modification of neural activity through sound enrichment, using hearing aids and tinnitus masking devices to provide chronic auditory stimulation in normal hearing and aging populations.
