About Peter J D Scott

I teach theoretical modules from the Renaissance to the Romantic periods, and supervise performance modules at undergraduate level, and also some Masters students. My specialisms are in the music printing of Ottaviano Petrucci (the Lamentations were the topic for my PhD), as well as the music of the Italian-born composer William Damon/Daman. I am also interested in reconstructing Renaissance polyphony with missing parts (my Damon edition features several reconstructed pieces). I am the staff member responsible for the allocation of Music performance students to specialized instrumental and vocal teachers, across all undergraduate years and also for our MA in Performance. I also coordinate Music department concerts in the Victoria Rooms, specifically the Friday lunchtime series. I help to coordinate our activities with outside bodies and prospective partners, such as Bristol Plays Music and the Bristol Ensemble.
