Background
About Peter J. Forcelli
Opinions posted here are my own and not those of any organization I work for or volunteer media inquiries, please contact Emily Willette from Smith Publicity at Peter J. Forcelli is a retired ATF Deputy Assistant Director and former N.Y.P.D. homicide detective. He worked his way up from "beat cop" to detective, before going on to serve as a Special Agent for the United States Department of Justice, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives. There, he rose through the ranks of ATF, eventually becoming a Deputy Assistant Director, and the head of training for the agency. He is perhaps best known for his work on numerous highly successful criminal cases. He was also a "whistleblower," who came forward and testified in the congressional inquiry into the "Operation Fast & Furious" scandal, following the death of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry. Mr. Forcelli has also been involved in the exoneration of eight people who were wrongfully arrested and convicted in Bronx county courts for murders that they did not commit. Mr. Forcelli is a survivor of the 9/11 Terrorist Attacks on the World Trade Center, and the lung cancer that he later developed because of his work in the rescue and recovery efforts at Ground Zero. He is a recurring guest speaker at the 9/11 Memorial and Museum. Several of his cases have been reported on in "The Wall Street Journal;""The New Yorker" magazine; on NBC's "Dateline;" A&E Channel's "Gangland;" and on the Biography Channel's "Gangsters- Most Evil." He has also appeared to provide commentary on a number of U.S. and Canadian radio, cable and network television news programs and documentaries with respect to ATF investigations or operations, and I have been portrayed in several real-crime novels, such as "Sex, Money Murder: A Tale of Blood, Crack and Betrayal,""El Narco" and "Blood, Gun, Money," to name a few.
