About Peter J. Scoma

I am a doctoral level psychotherapist in private practice located in Conshohocken, PA. In my 10+ years of experience in the mental health field I have worked and trained in a variety of settings including inpatient psychiatric hospitals, residential treatment facilities, outpatient clinics and community mental health organizations for children, adolescents and adults. I have completed extensive training in cognitive behavioral therapy, structural family therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy. My diverse background affords me the opportunity to offer clients several empirically sound approaches to treatment for a host of psychological disorders and relational issues that often spring up in one's home and/or work life. My passion for teaching adolescents and adults to better regulate strong emotions through the core tenets of dialectical behavior therapy has been my primary clinical focus for the past several years. My private practice focuses primarily on using DBT protocol to treat a range of mood disorders in adolescent and adult populations. I offer weekly DBT skills groups as well as 1:1 DBT to facilitate the utility of the techniques transferred to patients in the skills groups.
