About Peter Juhl

My daily work involves designing software utilizing machine learning. This involves the full stack from choosing the right ML tools to deploying the solution in a production environment. Professionally I am attracted to problems with a puzzle-like character where I can formulate an approach for solving them and implement it. With an emphasis upon solving, the language used and the beauty of the solution is not always paramount. My main and favorite language is C++. I often write small C++ programs solving specific sub-problems and then tie things together using Python. This style of development is best supported under Unix / Linux and its various flavors, my main programming environment. I have done projects in Erlang / Scala / R, a bit of a paradigm shift from the usual C++ model of programming. My main area of expertise is networking, security, bespoke development, and advising customers on the best way for them to get the most out of their investment. Even though I have done my share of GUIs I am more attracted to implementing the computational model behind them. Specialties: networking, low-level systems work, analysis, getting it done
