About Peter Kass
Dr. Peter Kass attended Pomona College (Go Sagehens!), where he played varsity basketball and majored in Neuroscience. After obtaining his bachelor’s degree, Dr. Kass joined Teach For America, where he taught high school science and coached varsity men’s basketball for 3 years at Dr. Olga Mohan High School in downtown Los Angeles. While teaching and coaching, Dr. Kass also received his Masters of Urban Education at Loyola Marymount University. Dr. Kass graduated from UC San Diego School of Medicine and completed his adult psychiatry residency at UC San Francisco, where he received rigorous training in diagnostic evaluation, psychiatric consultation, emergency psychiatry, psychopharmacology (medication management), mindfulness, and individual, group, and family talk therapy. Dr. Kass also completed an additional two-year psychodynamic psychotherapy training program at the San Francisco Center For Psychoanalysis.
