About Peter Korb

While working on my Economics degree from Hunter College, I was simultaneously working on a career in the Hospitality industry. My experience, while not traditional, enabled me to develop business skills and professionalism in high paced and volatile industry. In these positions I was responsible for every aspect of the businesses management and accountable for the profitability. In my most recent position as the Manager of Gael Pub, I increased the businesses profitability by 5% over the previous year by streamlining staff practices, updating inventory control procedures and renegotiating terms with vendors and suppliers. This position required daily conflict resolution all while keeping a calm, professional disposition. My goal, however, is to pursue a position which allows me to apply the business skills I have acquired, as well as my BA in Economics in an emerging market setting. I have always had a passion for finance and Marketing and would like to transition into a position that leverages both. In addition to my work experience, I feel I have several personal characteristics that would further support my candidacy. I have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and am skilled at all Microsoft office applications. I also graduated with honors, while managing in the hospitality industry full time. I believe these accomplishments show my ability to work hard and succeed, and I believe I would be able to do the same as I move forward in career seach.
