About Peter Krason

I enjoy the unique position teaching provides me with to make a positive difference in 150 students' lives each day, every week, throughout the year. I've enjoyed 16 years teaching Social Science at the Secondary level. Primary focal points have been emphasizing trauma informed teaching practices, developing empowered learners who track their progress and take initiative driving toward growth and mastery, fostering advanced literacy skills in the content area, utilizing technology to improve learning outcomes and engagement, and gamification of the classroom. Professional credentials include two Master of Arts (M.A.) as a Reading Specialist and for Curriculum and Instruction. I'm endorsed as a Reading Specialist and teacher for Secondary level Social Sciences including Psychology, AP US History, AP American Government, Global Issues, and World History. I’m starstruck for my students and sixteen years into the teaching profession, that’s the number one part of my day I look forward to. I’m in awe of their perseverance, creativity, brilliance, and dedication to the hope for a better world in our future. Tied for second for invigorating me professionally is both a passion for sharing my love of learning and open-minded wonder as well as a deep respect and joy in uncovering the multitudes of layers within the history of our nation, our world, and our humanity.
